If you ever back up and then restore your hard disk or if you change the locations of your applications, documents and resource files, your MasterJuggler™ system extension may not be able to find the applications and documents in the MasterJuggler Application list or the resource files in the MasterJuggler Open files list. MJ File Finder will attempt to find the missing files by searching for them on the disk that was last known to contain the files. If the files are not found, MJ File Finder will then search the startup volume and, if necessary, it will search every other disk on the desktop. After finding any missing files, your MasterJuggler system extension will be updated with the new file locations. If a disk is erased and restored, it does not appear to MasterJuggler or MJ File Finder as the same disk, therefore MJ File Finder may not first search the volume that was last know to contain your missing files.
NOTE: If you rename your files and you are running System Software 6, MasterJuggler cannot find them and MJ File Finder will NOT be able to find them.
To have MJ File Finder locate your files and update your MasterJuggler system extension follow these steps:
1) Restart your Macintosh and bypass the loading of your MasterJuggler system extension by holding down your MasterJuggler bypass key while your Macintosh is starting up. You can look in the MasterJuggler DA’s option dialog to determine which key is your bypass key.
2) Open “MJ File Finder”. A directory dialog box appears.
3) Locate the MasterJuggler system extension or MasterJuggler set file that references files that cannot be found, and double-click to open it. A window appears that indicates the progress of MJ File Finder. The name of each file being searched for is displayed in the window. When file finding is completed, another window appears that summarizes the results of file finding.
That is all there is to it. At this point found applications and documents in your Application list are immediately usable. Found resource files in your Open files list will not be opened until the Macintosh is restarted.
